Visitor Information

Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club has 27 holes available for play by visitors.

Visitors are normally welcome to play the course on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Limited times are available on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

Additionally, a limited number of tee times are available on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday (April to September).

Bookings for play can be made with the Club at golf@kbgc.co.uk  who will arrange and allocate starting times, which must be strictly adhered to. Alternatively it is now possible for the visitor to check availability and confirm their tee time online. Simply visit  Barassie on-line tee times

A non-refundable deposit of £25 per person must be received when the booking is confirmed.

Visitors will be required to play from the "Yellow Tee Markers" at all times and visitors should "check-in" at the Professional's shop before play.

Final numbers in the party should be confirmed to the Secretary at least 7 days before the visit and failure to do this may result in Green Fees being charged for the original number quoted.

About The Course

The Barassie Links 18 Holes Course measures 6852 yards from the white tees with a Standard Scratch Score of 74, 6484 yards from the yellow tees with a Standard Scratch Score of 72 and 6094 yards from the red tees with a Standard Scratch Score of 76.

USGA SLOPE Rating: White - 138, Yellow -135, Red - 133

USGA Course Rating: White - 73.8, Yellow - 72.1, Red - 76.2

The nine hole Hillhouse Course measures 2756 yards from the yellow tees and 2888 yards from the white tees. The par is 34.

Caddies - Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club does not provide caddies. However, visitors are welcome to make their own arrangements in this respect.

Pull trolleys - available for hire - £3 per round or per day.

Electric trolleys - available for hire - £8 per round; £13 per day.

Buggies - Available for hire - £25 per round; £45 per day.

Green fees - please see separate listing above - available for download. 

Visitors are expected to play without delay and so avoid the incidence of "Slow Play" on the course. They are also expected to observe course etiquette by raking bunkers, replacing divots, repairing spike and pitch marks on the greens and keep caddy carts outwith white lines.

Playing Times

Visitors' Starting Times are at 7 minute intervals as follows: (all subject to availability)

  • Monday & Tuesday - 9.00am until 12.30pm and 1.30pm until 3.00pm
  • Wednesday - 11.30am until 12.30pm and 1.30pm until 3.00pm
  • Thursday - 8.30am until 12.30pm and 1.30pm until 3.00pm
  • Friday - 11.00am until 12.30pm and 1.30 until 3.00pm
  • Saturday - From 2.00pm (Subject to availability)
  • Sunday - 11.30am until 12.30pm and 2.00pm until 3.00pm

All PM times on are available from April until September only.

From the1st October to 31st March - play is normally limited to 18 holes only.

The Clubhouse: A full catering service is available in the Clubhouse, with bar snacks being served in the lounges. Lunches, high teas and evening meals are served in the dining room. Catering requirements. if any, should be indicated in advance of your visit. Visitors must settle bills before leaving the Clubhouse. Mastercard, Visa Credit and Visa Debit cards are accepted.

It must be emphasised that training shoes, sports footwear and jeans whether denim or cotton or any other form of denim clothing are not acceptable neither in the clubhouse nor on the course.

Golf shoes are NOT permitted to be worn in the public areas of the clubhouse.
